Located in San Pedro, California. we provide:
Family

and at-risk families
Outpatient
drug and alcohol treatment to chemically dependent adolescents and adults and
their affected families
Vocational
training and rehabilitation assistance to veterans and disadvantaged teenagers
A transitional
housing program for individuals living with HIV/AIDS in Torrance, California
Our programs help over
2500 individuals and 300 families each year overcome the addictions
and personal barriers by providing them with:
Comprehensive
case management
Counseling
Instruction
from trained and certified staff which may include anger management, life skills
training, parenting and other
similar services
Support
services to become independent, self-sufficient and contributing citizens
Without Joint Efforts,
the San Pedro and Palos Verdes Peninsulas would be devoid of programs
that:
Transition
homeless veterans back into independent living
Provide
vocational training and job placement programs that serve at-risk youth
Transitional
housing for individuals living with HIV/AIDS
Street
outreach programs to at-risk populations designed to lower the transmission
of
HIV, STD’s and Hepatitis C in our community and facilitate individual efforts
back into
self-sufficient and independent living
Without Joint Efforts,
many would continue a life in the troughs of their self-destructive
behaviors without any hope for positive change. This would:
Increase
the number of homeless and active substance abusers on the streets.
These
increases would place a greater burden on already overwhelmed county and municipal
services such as police, fire,
paramedics, emergency medical rooms, hospitals
and the public
welfare system.
Local
property and sales taxes would be increased.
A proliferation
in homelessness would blight an already struggling community on the rebound
because
crimes against people and property and graffiti would increase.
Subsequently,
tourism and other sales related revenues would decline.
